------------------------------ Navigator II (Reculer Pour Mieux Sauter) ------------------------------ * Part II of a IV part thing that was written all at the same time. Parts I and III are finished, but still kinda crappy sounding and need work. * The original 'Navigator' was written by Joe Forrester, a good friend and big inspiration. The original had the chorus: "Will you be my DJ, we're gunna rock it all night". We were meant to produce it together and become electro gods, but we never got around to finishing it. * The girl speaking is Alexandra Zeller. She lives in Paris. I got in touch with her via friends of friends' friend Audrey Hasson (who you can hear at one point laughing) who recorded Alex saying a bunch of words that made me very happy. They recorded them and sent me them via the interwebs. The internet is AMAZING. * Here is the list of words I gave Alex and Audrey: - Navigator - Killer - Tyrannosaurus - Laser eyes - Winner - Narwhal - Velociraptor - Teen - Unicorn - Rage - Pimp - Strut - Slut - Aging Femenist - MacGuyver - Optimus Prime - Bankai * Lyrics: Measure once, kill everything. Tyrannosaurus. Laser eyes. Narwhal. Navigator. Killer. Velociraptor. Instigator. Bankai. Optimus Prime. MacGuyver. Velociraptor. Aging Feminist. Bankai. Laser eyes. Slut. * I decided to learn French, on the assumption that if I simply a) became an amazing producer and b) learnt French, I could go and get signed to Ed Banger and live happily ever after. It made sense at the time, and now I've started I'd feel bad stopping again, so I'm still having lessons. I am terrible at it. * I bought Alex a bonsai to say thank you. It died a few weeks later, I'm okay with that. * 'Reculer Pour Mieux Sauter' means "step backward to leap forward". That's how I feel about remixing. ------------------------------ About stems: ------------------------------ * A hell of a lot of side chaining and stuff goes on within the mix, so things might sound funny by themselves. * If I've left anything out it's because I'm forgetful. * Stems are mp3s encoded at 320kb/s
